Delnas Metal Roofing | Warehouse fitout

Delnas Metal Roofing is a Canberra-based roofing company specialising in the supply and installation of large-scale metal roofing and facade cladding on commercial building projects.

ANU Building 32 | Laboratory Fitout

The Australian National University (ANU) is regarded as one of the world’s leading research universities. Its main campus in Acton encompasses seven teaching and research colleges, in addition to several national academies and institutes.

Formation Workspaces was engaged to provide laboratory design and documentation services for the creation of new laboratory space within Building 32 of the ANU College of Engineering and Computer Science. The scope of works delivered by Formation Workspaces included site investigation and surveying, concept design development, laboratory fitout coordination, and development of detailed construction documentation of the laboratory.

The works involved the transformation of existing office and storage room spaces into a functional laboratory space designed to house state-of-the-art technology such as metal printing facilities. The space integrated large, glazed partition walls, allowing students and staff to safely observe the operation of this equipment. The main laboratory space was supplemented by the design and construction of a specialised power handling room, workshop and specialised mechanical services.

Workplace Health and Safety was integral to the laboratory design. Formation Workspaces coordinated the design and integration of numerous safety features within the space, including static electricity resistant materials, emergency detection sensors, specialist mechanical ventilation services and specialist lab room construction.

Formation Workspaces works closely and collaboratively with education and scientific institutions to develop practical, safe and optimised laboratory and education fitouts.
